Engagement in Ghana #3

Curiosity is a dangerous thing..it even kills cats. As I was patiently waiting to be called out, I experienced a feeling I don't encounter often..anxiety. (Experiencing worry, unease, or nervousness, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome) But after 3 seconds I snapped out of it and decided no matter the reaction from the huge crowd that was forming in the garden... I was going to have a huge smile on my face:

I was FINALLY called outside after what seemed like eternity and it was an emosh moment!!! I came outside and people were literally outside the door of the room I was in...I heard a mixture of OMG! This girl is too much! and WOW! I just kept smiling but in my head I was thinking maybe I should have just worn kente like everyone else...this is Jessicas fault she should have told me it was a bad idea...why didn't I tell my mum what I was planning to do???? But then I got over it and remembered my reasons...

1. At least half of both me and Prince's family live in Ghana and most of them will not be able to see me at my wedding in August and who am I to rob them off the opportunity to see me in a white dress.

2. I'm an attention seeker

3. I'm a princess, I do what I want...

Lol... but I nearly forgot my reasons again when my Grandma nearly had a heart attack...needless to say she was not expecting that...Having said that it was her idea for me to wear white, I guess she just assumed how I would wear white kente...lesson to all never assume anything...always expect the unexpected...

A group of my aunties and cousins came to escort me out singing and dancing...they didn't feel it necessary to pick a song that I knew so I was just smiling like a loser and dancing to a song that was so random....It was jokes! I finally got outside and Prince was smiling like a cheshire cat...

Before I sat down on my "throne" members of Princes family had to put money on the floor to lead the way...it's all quite fun! I think this is one of the rare times it's an advantage to be a woman,  I was showered with gifts from the list and the Bishop came to bless us. It was a beautiful day and this was the final result:

I honestly couldn't have made it through the day without...Jess

She did my hair, did up the back of my dress and so much more...

Prince and I are both not big on regrets so we had a lovely time and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest until the photographer started acting up...TBC
