Now, everyone knows I like to do things differently (reference my blog EXTRA!!!) and I wasn't going to make any exceptions with my engagement.
Usually in traditional engagements some of the women put some sort of accessory on their hair:

I wore a tiara:
Usually they wear beads:
I wore something along the lines of:
And in Ghana for engagements the bait thing to do is to wear kente, so I would have basically looked like this:
Now, as you can probably guess it didn't go down like that. A banana never grows on an orange tree so if I am extra, you cannnot possibly imagine how extra my family is...If I had worn kente, I would have been just another girl in the crowd...Everyone was either wearing kente or very expensive lace and I wasn't about to look like a random village girl who turned up to the engagement...and knowing that Prince is also an attention seeker, I knew he was planning to go fully in with his traditional clothes so I wanted to look like a Princess standing next to her Prince.
Many people tried to barge in when I was getting ready, but Jessica was standing at the door making sure no-one entered. The all wanted to see what I was going to wear because I hadn't showed them the material or the design. The curiosity was killing them...TBC
